About

Since the dialysis non drama is over, I figured I'd change this to an anything or whatever blog. Could still be dialysis related,... or not

my old blog, from 2005ish to 2008

For those who don’t undertand why I don’t like Follow Friday

I’ve explained this before, but I’m feeling a need to explain it again, and 140 characters just isn’t enough to say it right. Yeah, it’s cool, and it’s a way to get new followers, if that’s what you’re looking for. My problem is this. On Friday afternoons, from around 2pm till around 6pm AT, I’m in dialysis. When I’m there, I connect to the internet (and that includes facebook and twitter) with my phone. When someone mentions me on twitter, I get a notification. I’m not sure what some people think dialysis is, but what I do is sit in a rather uncomfortable chair for four hours with two needles stuck in my arm. I”m not able to get up, and I’m not even able to move or shift position, because I have to keep my arm as still as possible. Those are big, heavy, metal needles, and if I were to move the wrong way they could fall out or tear something. What I do is sit in the chair with my phone and my ipod, listening to music and checking twitter. It’s mind numbingly boring. I look forward to mentions, because usually it is someone who has something to say to me, so there is possibility of conversation, and a break from the boredom. So, it’s a little disappointing when I look and see that it’s someone’s follow Friday list, or someone RTing someone else’s list. I have nothing against those who like to send out follow Friday lists, but I do ask that you don’t include me in them. Thanks.
